It's said Toyota decided to produce passenger bus in the Russian Far East.
According to the report, because of soaring demand in emerging market, Toyota decided to join with Mitsui and Russia auto manufacturer Sollers to assemble passenger bus in Vladivostok, Russia. Toyota will provide parts and staff-training for Russian factory, while Mitsui and Sollers each holding half of the shares to form a joint venture plant and responsible for vehicle assembly.
If this is true, Toyota will be the first Japanese auto manufacturer to build the plant in the Russian Far East. It is reported that in 2007 the company has established a department to begin auto production in St. Petersburg.
Toyota spokeswoman Kayo Miyata said the company declined to comment on the report.
