Chinese bus manufacturer Golden Dragon Bus recently gave the 1000th complete bus body an electrophoresis primer in their bus plant in Haicang, Xiamen. In early 2007, Golden Dragon kicked off the second phase of its full-sized coach manufacturing project in this city, including China's first complete vehicle body pretreatment and cathode electrophoresis primer facility.

The framework of the entire vehicle is subject to treatment in more than 10 processes, including pretreatment, degreasing, rinsing, surface adjustment, phosphatization, rinsing, pure rinsing, electro-coating and super filter cleaning. These processes significantly improve the paint membrane adhesion and corrosion resistance of complete vehicles, bringing the products up to quality standards and making complete vehicles resistant to corrosion for more than 10 years.

At Golden Dragon, one large or medium-sized coach is electrophoresed every 12.5 minutes, the annual capacity exceeds 10,000 units. Golden Dragon has now initiated the introduction of the second phase of the large-sized coach building facility project at it's Haicang facility, which should further improve the finishing quality.
