The Commercial Vehicles division of MAN has reported an operating profit up to Euros 1,062m for the fiscal year 2008, compared with Euros 1,039m for 2007. The operating profit on the bus operations went from a negative figure of Euros13m in 2007 to a positive figure of Euros19m at the end of 2008.

Total commercial vehicle order intake plummeted from 127,345 units in 2007 to 75,497 in 2008, with bus orders dropping from 8,233 units to 6,625 units. Though orders dropped dramatically, sales showed a less dramatic fall from 7,349 in 2007 to 7,227 in 2008 with total revenue of the commercial vehicle division on increasing from Euros 1,387m in 2007 to Euros 1,522m in 2008.
