Scania's Finnish distributor Oy Scan-Auto Ab together with body builder Lahden Autokori Oy will deliver 72 city buses for public transport in the Helsinki region. The contract is the largest to date for the two companies in connection with public bus procurement.

The buses will be delivered during 2009 to operators Concordia Bus Finland Oy, Veolia Transport Finland Oy and Westendin Linja Oy. They will be bodyworked by Lahden Autokori.
Finnish customers' confidence in Scania's high quality and low operating costs as well as good experience of the functionality and quality of Lahden Autokori bodywork were decisive factors behind the order.
The deliveries will include both 2-axle, 12.9 metre long buses and 3-axle, 14.8 meter long buses. The 2-axle buses will feature Scania's 9-litre, 230 hp engines and the 3-axle buses will have 280 hp engines. The engines, using Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) technology, will meet Euro 5 emission standards and the enhanced environmentally friendly vehicle (EEV) standard, without exhaust aftertreatment. The order will guarantee a full workload until year-end at the Lahden Autokori city bus factory in Vill鋒de, southern Finland.
