On the sidelines of delivering 1,600 low-floor buses to DTC, Tata Motors has said that it is eyeing to post a double digit growth in sales in the commercial vehicle (CV) segment during the current financial year owing to new product launches, government stimulus, lenient financing, and the remival of the market.
It is to be mentioned that Tata Motors' sales of commercial vehicles in September 2009 in the domestic market were 31,474 nos., a 10 per cent growth compared to 28,648 vehicles sold in September last year. LCV sales were 18,454 nos., a growth of 16 per cent over September last year. M&HCV sales stood at 13,020 nos., a growth of 2 per cent over September last year. This is the third consecutive month of growth for M&HCV.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 161,700 nos., a growth of 11 per cent over last year. Cumulative LCV sales were 100,278 nos., a growth of 30 per cent over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 61,422 nos., lower by 11 per cent over last year.
