The italian island of Sardinia will be flooded with coaches of Irizar i4 model.
The public company in charge of the passengers transport in the Island of Sardinia, ARST, has relied on Irizar and its latest coach model in order to update their fleet. This Italian company has bought 210 units of the i4 model which will be produced in Ormaiztegi (Spain), the plant which renders service to all the European market, and will be delivered at the end of this year.

New IRIZAR i4
This business transaction represents for Irizar the confirmation that it was a sensible choice to develop and launch Irizar i4 model which was introduced to the Spanish and Portuguese market in June 2007 and worlwide on occasion of the Busworld Trade Fair in October.
Irizar i4 model has been designed and developed to give service to the passengers transport segment dealing with short and medium distance journeys and will be positioned in large urban areas, both for coach services as well as regular bus services, thus enlarging and complementing Irizar range of products. With this order Irizar will be selling in his first year almost 400 units of Irizar i4 model.
Just recently Irizar had informed about a new record of sales. In the last fiscal year its turnover went beyond 435 million Euro and reached the figure of 3,900 manufactured units.
Sales overseas have been a key fact in Irizar spectacular development. Irizar is the absolute leader in Spain, one of the most competitive markets in Europe, and it is positioned among the three main manufacturers of luxury coaches in the European Union. The development has been very important: in 1991 it was present in five countries (Spain, France, Belgium, Greece and Israel) and nowadays its commercial activity spreads over 88 countries.
As a result of its strategy of expansion and commercial agreements, the Irizar Group, with main headquarters in Ormaiztegi, also has the following production plants: IRIZAR TIANJIN (China 1995), IRIZAR MAGHREB (Morocco 1997), IRIZAR Brazil (1998), IRIZAR Mexico (1999), IRIZAR TVS LTD. (India 2001) and IRIZAR SOUTHERN AFRICA (South Africa 2004). Over 3.100 people take part in the above seven projects.
