Recently, several bus firms have tendered for providing 100 new energy buses for Kunming public transport system. It is reported that Huanghai secured an order of 20 Huanghai DD129HES11 for Kunming.

Huanghai DD6129HES11 new energy bus is one of the great masterpieces designed by Huanghai Technology Research Institute in hybrid bus. On April 2009, the awarding ceremony of the First China International Exhibition on Buses, Trucks & Components was held in Beijing International Convention Center. Huanghai DD6129HES11 won the Best New Energy Bus Prize.

In recent years, Chinese central government promotes the green transportation in nationwide and more and more new-energy buses debut in China. The new energy vehicles become the most  important way to catch up with and surpass the competitors for China bus industry.

As early as 2006, Huanghai Bus has already built their own new energy bus project. For that, dozens of experienced designers of Huanghai bus went on an in-depth tour of the major urban public transport company, and conducted a comprehensive study from the operation of city bus, the actual speed, fuel consumption and power etc.. Finally, through continuous practice, Huanghai has accumulated a great deal of information about the new first-hand data on the energy bus, and from which they developed a set of new engergy program for China's urban public transport buses.

In 2009, Huanghai Bus achieved an order of 100 new energy buses from Changzhou city. In March 2010, China's largest, most competitive new energy production base jointly built by Huanghai bus and CSR company. More and more Huanghai new energy buses will be running in China citites soon.
