Lagos Leading Chinese bus manufacturer, Yutong of Zhenghou, has said it will soon introduce a range of high capacity buses into the Nigerian market.

The lineup of the first set of buses coming consist of super luxurious, top and mini luxurious buses including mass transit buses targeted at intra-city bus rapid services including intercity buses.

The firm said in a statement obtained via email on Tuesday that it was determined to redefine commercial and corporate transport businesses in the country with the quality and prices of the new buses.

To facilitate the project, it said that necessary arrangements had been perfected between Maneffort Limited, the Lagos-based preferred franchise owners and Yutong.

Maneffort is a leasing, logistics, auto sales and manpower training and development firm, it said, adding that Yutong.

The statement quoted the Managing Director of Maneffort, Mohammed Mahmud, as saying that all the buses for the Nigerian market would be running on Cummins engines.

He stated that only high quality engines produced by world famous manufacturers are permitted to be installed in Yutong buses, adding that the brand's state-level technical centre had continued to study and adopt the numerous factors influencing fuel efficiency.

"As a result, the company has succeeded in making the engine run stably even with lower fuel consumption through the adoption of advanced engine technologies," the statement said.

According to the firm, when finally available, the top of the products' range will be the Yutong ZK6147H super luxurious model passenger bush with rigid bus body structure and steady performance, which ensures the operation safety and create more profit.

It said, "Through strict control of each step in design and production, the brand reduces the maintenance rate and cost efficiency while bringing to customers long-term value in return.

"It is equipped with double glass front windscreen with smooth outline and also maintenance friendly and sophisticated driveline with low fuel consumption."

Yutong gave other models that would compete with big players including Toyota Coaster and Nissan Civilian as Yutong commercial bus with model series number ZK6737D and ZK6116D.

It explained that Yutong ZK6737D was designed with fashionable headlight with diamond style, open-view side window that would allow for unlimited passenger enjoyment, with ergonomically-oriented interior.

"The ZK6737D series, on its part, comes with very innovative front grille combines the front headlight as a whole, a technically advanced chassis that ensures good rigidly while having the ability to bear large capacities and simple, yet stylish interior trimming with harmonious colour choices", it said.

For tour operators, it said that Yutong Tourist Coach would offer value to prospective players in the industry with ZK6100HB, adding, "This bus adopted an international style body design and combines multiple anti-corrosion techniques for strength. The interior trimming focuses on the passengers and ensures comfort while on motion."

The firm said that the adoption of advanced bus body framework and chassis made the bus adaptable to any road conditions and adverse weather conditions.

Speaking on the price sensitive nature of the luxury bus buyers locally, Mahmud said that Yutong produces high quality buses, being offered at reasonable prices, while also reducing operating cost effectively and enhancing the capacity of earning profits.

He also said, "Yutong buses are coming to Nigeria with adequate spare parts, adequate technical back up, Manufacturers warranty and free after sales service up to six months after purchase."
